A) What does CGA stand for?

Certified General Accountants Association of Canada.

Founded in 1908, the Certified General Accountants Association of Canada (CGA-Canada) is a self-regulating, professional association of 68,000 students and Certified General Accountants — CGAs of today and the future. CGA is the fastest-growing accounting designation in Canada.

b) Do you take any professional development courses?

Absolutely! CGA-Québec requires all practicing members to take professional development courses that include some of the following areas: personal taxes, corporate taxes, GST-QST, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

c) What is the mission of the Private Practice CGA’s Network?

The Private Practice CGA’s Network was established to create a venue for the exchange of information and professional expertise between practicing CGA members.

f) Once you’ve done your work, do I have to input accounting entries into my computer system?

I use an innovative system that allows me to input end-of-year adjusting entries into your computer system directly. You don’t have to input complicated entries or worry about balancing your accounts at the end of the fiscal year. You may also choose to input the data yourself.

g) What documents should I bring when you’re preparing my corporate tax returns?

Please call us and we’ll send you a list of required documents. The process is simple and straightforward.

h) I have a few problems with Canada Revenue Agency/Revenu Québec. Can you help?

Definitely. We have over 20 years’ experience in private practice and will certainly guide you through the long and occasionally stressful process.

i) I’d like to calculate the maximum amount of dividends and salaries so as to attract the least amount of tax. Do you offer this type of calculation services?

YES!

The length varies from client to client but it generally takes two weeks to produce financial statements and tax returns.

Our office doesn’t use a lot of paper since we have been scanning all documents since 2002. This allows us to find any paperwork or notices related to contributions quickly and easily.

l) I need an old copy of my tax returns or financial statement. Can I get a copy?

You can get a copy quite easily. Please contact us and we’ll be pleased to send you the documents. Our scanning system allows us to retrieve the documents quickly and easily.
